The Big One. I have no idea how to go about reviewing or writing about this one, but I guess I’ll try. What an epic, incredible way to close out the first arc of The Stormlight Archive. Sanderson just hits you hard with everything: triumph, failure, depression, elation, and just an insane amount of Cosmere tie-ins. Some parts fell a little flatter than others but overal just an absolute banger. It’s hard to rank the Stormlight books because they’re all good. This one comes in third for me, behind Words of Radiance and The Way of Kings. I wasn’t quite sure how to organize this review so first I’ll do overall thoughts/impressions and then there are a couple of themes I think were essential to the book and obviously extremely important to Sanderson. ...

Here we are. The finale of the Bloodsworn triology. I couldn’t wait to get to this book. I love this series, and I love John Gwynne’s writing (and I still have his other two series to get to!). I think the thing that stood out to me the most was the incredible character development in this one, and I think I’m going to break out this review per character as opposed to just an overall review of the plots and storyline of the final arc of this series (many spoilers ahead). ...

Elantris is Brandon Sanderson’s first major published work. It is also the last main Cosmere entry I needed to finish before Wind and Truth comes out in December. It reminded me why I love the Cosmere so much, it was a fantastic read, and one of my favorite Sanderson books. Elantirs is a really interesting fantasy book, and I think it’s one of Sanderson’s most interesting books as well for one major reason: religion. ...

Heaven’s River is the fourth installment in the Bobiverse, published in 2020 so it took me a while to get to. I read book 3, All These Worlds back in 2018, so it’s been a while since I’ve been in the Bobiverse and it took me a while to reacquaint myself with the world, characters, and previous storylines (and to be honest, the previous storylines are fuzzy at best). Overall, this continues to just a be a fun Sci-Fi series to read while also posing some thoughtful questions about factions/groupthink, and existence in general. ...
